Confusion galore

If there is one piece of advice that I could anyone, (especially living in Florida) "Don't ever get a DUI". I know this is pretty personal thing to be sharing, to people I hardly know, but if you read my final project draft, you will know what I have been going through. Finally, 3 years after the DUI, I could afford to get a vehicle again, but is it that easy, "oh No", after paying all my dues, doing what I was suppose to do, like; DUI school, victim impact panel, community service, money you wouldn't believe for one thing or another.

Just to get my license back, and be able drive the car I just bought, of course I had to get insurance, then I had to get a release form, so the dealer could issue me a registration, and tag, then after that, and still the car is at the dealers, (paid for), but I can't get it until the tag comes in, and go with someone (2-people) to pick up the truck, and drive it to get an 'ignition interlock" put in it for 6 month, which is a machine they hook to the car, and you must blow in it before the car starts, and every 30 minutes after that, as long as the car is on. Boy now I think that is crazy, now if I'm going on a long trip, I have to stop every 30 minutes to blow in it, then go again. This machine I guess is something like the blow machine the police give you to get your blood alcohol count (BAC) just to make sure you have no alcohol on your breath. I do see where it important, because I had one friend that 4 DUI's total, and is still driving. Don't ask me how.

In closing, I bought the car yesterday, but won't be able to drive it until, 'whenever' they say I can. The moral of this story is if you drink do NOT drive, because a cab is cheaper than a DUI, (cost, headache, and embarrassment).
For me I have learned my lesson, and now am sober for 2 1/2 years, and don't have to worry about that anymore.

Doing this project really brought back some bad memories, about my drinking days, and I am still paying for it now, but not only with the vehicle, with my health.

Till next time..live well and God bless.

Well Lord girl that is a lot of trouble to go through for a little bit of fun. I am so proud of you for not being like that anymore. It was a hard lesson to learn for you i know but you did it. We have someone we know that has to blow in one of those things. I guess it beats getting a ticket.
God bless you on your post and having the courage to post it.

Wow, the 30 minute check up does seem excessive. Yes, the consequences of our actions can sometimes be very painful. Thanks for sharing. You never know what your words might mean for someone else.

Wow! That really is a huge headache. I have heard of them putting those things on your car but have never actually seen it done. That would just right out suck. Alcoholism can take ahold of someone without them even realizing it. Believe me I have been there and done that. It just takes a strong willed person to overcome that obstacle. I have and so have you and in the end that is all that matters. Congrats on the new car. I hope you get to drive it soon. God Bless!
